Wednesday Night Family Dinners

The Wednesday Family Night activities schedule for the summer remains

the same for all ages.  The weekly meals will begin at 5:15 p.m. as usual, but in

addition to the regular meal, there will be a special meal one Wednesday

night each month.  Join us each Wednesday night for our delicious

summer meals and also remember these:

South Dakota Mission Trip

When:   8/1/09 to 8/8/09  (Saturday to Saturday)

Where: Cheyenne River Reservation, Bridger, South Dakota

Who: Warm Embrace (part of the CBF Together for Hope)

What:   Construction, home repairs, painting

Estimated cost:

?         Airfare                                 $550    

?         Transportation                     $125

?         Food/lodging                        $125

Total estimated cost       $800

            $400 to be paid by participant

            $400 paid from RBC Missions budget

(expenses not included are 4 to 5 meals while traveling)

            First deposit $200 due May 24^th

            Final $200 due June 21^st

·         Work will be done for Native Americans living on Cheyenne River Reservation in Bridger, South Dakota

·         Lodging will be in the fellowship hall of Bridger Church where there are showers and a kitchen

·         We will need to bring sleeping bags, pillows, (we will be sleeping on the floor) towels, toiletries, etc.

·         We will be responsible for our own meal preparations therefore will need 2 to 3 people whose only responsibilities will be cooking, shopping, etc

·         Construction/repair supplies for project will be supplied by our host

·         We will have one free day for sightseeing (Mt Rushmore)

·         All participants will be required to attend Cultural Awareness training (date to be announced)

Roxboro Baptist Church is offering a marriage seminar entitled “Celebrating Marriage God’s Way”.  The discussion will be led by Eddie Thompson from the Baptist State Convention.  Eddie is an accomplished speaker in the area of marriage and attendees will learn how a marriage can be strengthened through focus on God.  To allow for adequate discussion, participation will be limited to twenty-five (25) couples.
